My Mumbai filmfest to vie ‘Empty view’

Iran animation ‘Empty view’ is to go on screen at the 6th My Mumbai Int’l filmfest in India.

Iran animation ‘Empty view’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 6th edition of My Mumbai International Film Festival in India.

Directed by Ali Zare-Qanatnowi, the flick is to represent Iran at the Indian film event. Empty view’ attends the competition section of the Indian film event.

The award-winning 'Empty View' depicts an old woman looking for the return of her missing son from the battle ground of an imposed war. 

'Empty View' was designed and produced during two years. It combines the 2D and 3D animation techniques for the first time in Iranian cinema on such scale.

'Empty View' has so far succeeded to win several top awards at various world festivals, including UK Monthly Film Festival, 6th Seoul Guro Int'l Kids Film Festival, 8th Amsterdam Film Festival, 3rd Best Short Fest in Canada and 3rd Great Message Int'l Film Festival in India.

Founded in 2012, My Mumbai International Short Film Festival is held annually. The festival invites first-time as well as professional filmmakers to submit their entries, following which a panel of filmmakers judges and honors them with My Mumbai Awards in 7 categories. It’s an initiative to promote and facilitate new filmmaking talent.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for October 19-21, India.
